Here are some tips to keep your mattress in great shape.  When properly cared for, your mattress should last at least the life of the warranty, which is an average of ten (10) years.

The first TWO MONTHS:

  • Flip it every time you change your sheets.  After that, every three months is sufficient to keep the wear pattern even.

How should I flip my mattress?

  • Use your mattress label as a reference point.  All but a few of our mattress have a corner label.
  •  A good place to start is to have the corner label in the right hand corner.
  • When flipping, place the mattress so that the corner is on the opposite side of where it was to start.
  • Each subsequent flip, just move the label to a different corner every time you flip your mattress.
  • If you have a center label on our mattress, just put the label in a different position, or you could attach a piece of fabric with a safety pin as a reference point.
  • And finally: Do NOT allow your children (or the kid in you) to use your mattress as a trampoline! Such actions will void your warranty.

Preventing stains . . .

  • Use a good, thick mattress pad underneath your sheets.
  • If it does get soiled, take the sheets off immediately.  Quick action should prevent liquids from coming through to the mattress itself.

How do I get stains out of my mattress?

  • A good thing to use, for example, is anything similar to the Bissell Little Green Machine.  Do not let it get completely soaked through/
  • We highly recommend "Spot Shot" to get it out.  When used with the Little Green, it gets it right out, leaving the surface slightly damp.  Those two make a great cleaning combination.
  • On a sunny day, take the mattress out and let it air dry in the sun.

What can I do about odors?

  • On a good, sunny day, take your mattress outside and spray it with Febreze® (or a similar product).  Let it air out for several hours and the sun will do its share.

Our Recommendations:

  • PLEASE use sheets!  If your sheets keep slipping off the bed, use sheet keepers.   They can be found at nearly any retail store, such as Wal-Mart, Target, etc.
  • Use a mattress pad under the sheets.  It helps prolong the life of the mattress, not to mention it feels pretty good when you lay down.
  • NO SMOKING in bed! Please remember this for your safety as well as your familys!
